Who You Are
Kimberly Blaeser's essay "Rituals of Memory" discusses her life experiences growing up as an American Catholic and a Native American. First, Blaeser compares her friend's curly hair to our relationships to family, place, and community because they are interwoven and create who we are. Then, she uses the memory of Memorial Days spent with the Legionnaires visiting cemeteries and the Indian burial grounds as an example of a time when her two cultures came together. Also, Blaeser talks about her Catholic school and how she treasures her Native American culture and how both are important as to who she is. Finally, she says that she has report cards from her catholic school and she has feathers from her Native American culture, but most importantly she has memories.

Please answer all questions in complete, grammatically correct sentences.
2. What qualifies this paper as a summary? What are the requirements for this genre and how did you meet them?
The requirements are that everything about the story is put into a shorter version and doesn't go off topic. This meets the requirements because everything here is about the same topic and is the same story just shorter.
3. What piece of advice would you give someone writing a summary for the first time? Why?
Make sure you know the story and that it is all the same just fewer words because its hard to repeat something if you don't know it.
