A Day In The Life Of A Ghost
I start my day by turning on the sun to wake up my humans. Then I rush down to earth and seep into the ocean to catch some breakfast, but as you know I am a ghost so it just goes right through me, but its still something to do. Its fun to catch fish because they don’t even know im there. Then I go up to the Hawiian islands and make all the neighborhood dogs bark, they can actually see me. Its nice to be recognized. Then, I move some stuff around in the village homes to freak them out. Finally, I end my day by turning off the sun then going back down to the beach and watching the sun slowly fade like a hot light bulb. I go home and think about my day, and just remember what its like to be human, having long walks on the beach with my friends, playing catch and other sports. I wish I had friends , but they are all scared of me and cants see me. I wish they could just see me for me. Then one day I woke up to a tall, lean dark haired guy poking me in the face. Someone could see me! I was so overjoyed my heart about exploded.
I asked “What are you doing here?”
he replied “I went for a walk and got lost.”
“I will help you get home” I said.
We started walking outside across my creaking floor.
Then I asked “Which way?”
He didn’t say anything he just started walking north. We walked about three miles in the hot summer sun. Freja must have realized I slept in and filled in for my job. I saw a person strapped to a tree and we both ran to it and his face went long, and cold. He looked at me and said
“ that’s me, how do I get home?” I
replied with a “You cant.”
He was pretty upset so I took him to meet Freja, god of love, and he felt a little better. He said with a blank expression
“I just want to see my family.”
Freja said “ I might have a solution.”
She grabbed a small bottle from the cabnet above the stove and handed it to him.
“rub it!”
He did and a dark blue cloud of smoke filled the room. I could barley breathe. The a small mad with a feather in his hat came out coughing. He said
“ I will grant you three wishes, your wish is my command.”
First he wished to go home. So the guinie send him home but, not alive, his family couldn’t see him or hear him despite his efforts. So then he wished to be back in his body, and as wished, he was. Though he was still lost in the woods, and stuck to a tree. He made his last wish a little more specific.
“I wish to be home, and alive at the same time!”
His wish was granted but his family still couldn’t hear or see him, but he was alive, and had no more wishes, but I was happy I gained a lifelong fiend. So, be careful what you wish for!
2. Is this paper narrative, expository, or argumentative? How do you know?
My story is expository because it is meant to explain that other people have thoughts, feelings and troubles.
3. Tell me one thing you learned from writing this paper.
One thing I learned from writing this paper is how to write different types of stories and how to show not tell.
